CRAWFEST MUSIC & FOOD FESTIVAL

Event Branding | Visual Identity | Signage

Back for its 17th year, the annual Tulane Crawfest Food and Culture Festival returned to campus for a day of great music and fresh crawfish - both locally sourced. Bringing together 12,000+ students and New Orleans neighbors, in a city with more festivals than days of the year, the event needed a fresh, memorable look - speaking to the students, while not not speaking to everyone else. In 2024, the festival took place April 20th.

The school set the date. We just went with it.

LOGO

An emblem that brings the elements together

CRAWFISH TAIL - The Food

The logo’s form starts with the heart of the festival - a crawfish shell with a simply repeated pattern.

GUITAR HEAD - The Music

We stretched the crawfish tail long and skinny, and evened out the spacing to resemble the frets of a guitar neck. We kept the outlines bold to reinforce the pattern.

FLOWER PETALS - The Vibe

We softened the edges and elongated the curves, pulling inspiration from ‘70s flower patterns. After testing limited color systems, a rainbow-adjacent palette created something perfectly funky.
